OBITUARY.

DUKE OF RUTLAND. Reoeived August 5, 5.30 p.m, LONDON, August 4. The death is announced of the Duke of Rutland. (The Duke of Rutland was born in 1818. He entered Parliament as Member for Newark in 1841; unsuccessfully contested Liverpool in 1847 aud London in 1849 He was returned for Colchester in 1850, Leicestershire North in 1857, and Leicestershire East in 1885; first commissioner of works, with a seat in the Cabinet, in 1852, and again in 1858-59' and 1866-68; PostmasterGeneral 1874-1880, and again in 1885-6; Chancellor of the Duchy of Lanuaster 1886-92).
