MR R. H. W. BLIGH.

Mr R. H. W. Bligb, the Australasian White Cross League lecturer, delivered his first address to men in the Masterton Town Hall last evening, on the subject, "The Perils of Impurity." The Mayor presided, and there was a good attendance. Among those who had seats on the stage were Revs. J. N. Buttle, A. Thompson, A. M. Johnson, Adjutant Powick, Messrs J. Heyhoe, C. E. Daniell, W. H. Jackson, P. L., Boilings and Dr Cook. Mr Bligb's address was listened to with interest throughout, and was frequently applauded. He stated that so far his mission had been a deoided success, and he had been well received everywhere. In Wellington be bad held large meetings in the Town Hal], which had been lent free of charge. He mentioned that he was allowed to travel free on the Government and Manawatu Company's ra'lway lines. The New Zealand Government was the first Government Jn Australasia thai had granted him this privilege. In the course of bis address, Mr Bligh compared man with the animals and- plants. He showed thu similarity in their lives, but be regretted that soraotimea human life whs nut valued to such an extent as that of show etock. The spirit of chivalry in a lad's life and its proper development was touched on by the Breaker, and, while showing the many dangers and pitfalls that a lad would meet in his early years, he gave remedies l'or the overcoming of these difficulties. Mr Bligh spoke very stroDgly against whit ho termed "quack doctors." He particularly mentioned tho electric belt, a sample of which he had on the platform. At the conclusion of his address the speaker was accorded a vote of thanks, on tho motion of Mr Jackson, seconded by Mr Daniell. On the call of the Mayor, three cheers
