MR LESLIE HARRIS.

Mr Leslie Harris, the society entertHiuer, will commence a season of two nights in the Masterton Town Hall on Monday next. Air Harris has come from England for an Australian tour under the direction of Mr Allan Hamilton and has caused a furore of appreciation to be„ expressed wherever he has appeared up to date. He made his debut in Melbourne at the Athenaeum, and so great waß the success of the fortnight's season that a return season of throe weeks was immediately fixed tor Cup week, after he returns from a thiwe mouths' tour of New Zealand. This clover sooiety entertainer, says a contemporary, gives a performance something on the lines of the late Mel. B. Spurr, and in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane the audiences simply rose as one man and cheered him. He is a young man, and, in addition to being a virtuoso on the piano, he has excellent dialect, with remarkably good facial expression. There is never a tired minute whilst |he is on the stage, and he further delights the audience by showing them that he enjoys the pleasure of entertaining aa muob as his listeners do, He is accompanied by the celebrated New Zealand dra matio soprano, Miss Rosina Suckman. Her voice is a charming one, of great power and purity, added to which her cultivated method and admirable selection of songa always win for her a splendid reception. The box plan will open to morrow at MiBS Rive's. There will be no charge for uooking and no early doois.
