p OTICE is hereby Riven of the intention .-* of the Council, at a meeting to be held on the 9th day of August, 1906, under the provisions of sections 148 to 153 of "The Counties Act, 1886," to make the following rates for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1906, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1907, on the rateable value of all rateable property within the County as appearing on the Valuation 801 l in force at this date. A general rate of 5-8 of a penny in the pound over the whole County. A separate rate in the Wainuioru Biding of 3-16 of a penny in the pound. A separate rate in the Upper Taueru Eiding of 1-16 of a penny in the pound. A separate rate in the Alfredton Eiding of 3-8 of a penny in the pound. The said rates will be made payable at the County Office, Chapel Street, Masterton, in one sum on the 27th August, 1906. The Eate Books are open for inspection at the said office during office hours. OTICE is hereby given that at a special I meeting of the Masterton County Council, held on ths 21st day of July, 1906, it was resolved (by way of special that the said Council make a By-law under "The Counties Act, 1880," " The Public Works Act, 1905." and the various Aots amending the same, and all other Acts and Powers whatsoever enabling it in that behalf, the object and purport of which Bylaw are as follows: To repeal certain existing By-laws, to regulate traffic, and more particulary heavy traffic, within the County, to provide for the licensing of Traction Engines, and of certain Vehicles, Engines and Machines engaged in heavy traffic in the Alfredton Eiding, and to fix penalties for the breach of the By-law. The said resolution will be submitted for Conformation to a special meeting of the Council, lobe held at the County Office. Masterton, on the 25th day of August, 1906, at 2 p.m. A copy of the proposed special order and By-law is deposited at the County Offices, Masterton, whfire the same will be open for inspection during office hours, until the E»id Confirming Meeting is held.
