MONTGOMERY'S ENTERTAINERS.

There was a large attendance at thd Town Hall, last evening, when an entertainment waa given by Montgomery's Entertainers. The programme submitted was an excellent one. A great variety of pictures were shown, and eaoh one was very distinct. The fllmß showing the recent disaster at San Francisco were the object of much interest. The city before and after the disaster, people hurrying through the streets, and leaving the city; the large structures crashing down after being devastated by fire; and the refugees' life in the Park were all vividly ponrtrayed on the canvas. Another excellent film was one depicting Mt. Vesuvius in eruption, and the ruined city of Pompeii. Besides these two splendid films, others of a sensational and humourous character were shown. A very interesting film was "The Life of a Racehorse." Among the others, "Up-to-Date Burglars," "The Phan torn Guards," "A Visit to the Moon," "Keep it Straight,"and "The Frenub Grand National Steeplechase," were perhaps the best. A number of vocal items were given by members of the Company. Mr W. H. Montgomery, who recently arrived from England, has a baritone voice of fine range. His two songs "Happy Moments" and the "Bandolero" were excellent items. He quickly established himself a favourite with the audience. Miss Ettie Hargoori sang two very pretty songs, entitled "Would You Oare?" and "In The Vale of Shenandoah." Mr H. Thomas supplied the comic element with three humourous songs, which were loudly applauded. "I've Grown so Used to You" and "Good-bye, Sweet Marie," were Mr E. Montgomery's items, and that he has lost none of his popularity with Masterton audiences was shown by the manner in which bis songs were received. The Company will appear again this evening, when with the exception of the pictures of San Franoiaco and Mt. Vesuvius, there will be a complete ohange of programme.
