AN AUCKLAND SENSATION.

O'Dowd, licensee of the B.A. Hotel, returning homo unexpectedly after avisitto Lautoka, found Philip owner of the hotel, leased by O'Dowd, in the hotel with Mrs O'Dowd, after closing hours. It is alleged he found them in the dark, and discharged live revolver shots.
Pfiuger received one bullet in the artr, and Mra O'Dowd two bullets in the arms and one in the breast. The injuries are serious, but. are not expected to prove fatal. Ffluger ran to a augar mill, and Mrs O'Dowd took refuge with some friends.
O'Dowd is a New Zealander, and ■is a brother of Frank O'Dowd, once licensee of the Criterion Hotel, Auckland. Mrs O'Dowd is also a New Zealander, and is the mother of two children.
