BOROUGH LOAN SCHEDULE.
THE LIST OF URGENT WORKS.
The loan sohedule <vas re opened and re-ounaidered at the meeting of the Masterton Borough Council last evening.
It was decided to go on with the following list of urgerit works (contained in schedule B as the ratepayers at the reoent poll), during the lirst ye4r of the time uver which the loan is spread:—
Pine Street.' —Metal all over, and widening near Scott's and Bieale's, £248; Bentley Street—water' table, and Town Creek,and metal all over for 23 chains, £492; Villa Street—metal all over for 13 chains on the south side, £52, and 35 chains on the north side, £140; Lincoln Road—reforming and metalling for 12 chains, £150; metal to Hall Street, 45 chains, £180; Chapel Streetgrading, footpath and gravelling, £75, metal all over for 30 chains from Mr Beard's to the Fishponds, £IBO, oulvert at Fish Pond, £3O; Renall Street—two culverts, £65; Church Street—gravelling, extension to Columba Road, £100; Johnston Street—widening and filling completion, £150; Mabora Road—two bridges, £200; Dixoa ~i,reet—stop bank, Waipoua River, \ESO; grading Mill Stream, culverts, snagging, piping, etc , £1000; Cockburn Street —Kuripuni construction, £250; extension to Kuripuni Street, £80; Vivian Street —Construction, £150; two cross roads, Donald's Estate £100; High Street—gravelling, etc. £SO.
The above works total £3,942, and the sum/of £4,000 for gasworks and £I,OOO for water extuSsion will be raised independent of the first year's allocation.
The following additional works, making the total to be jpent up to £14,053, wero pluced on the list: — Bannister Street footpath on the north sie, £217 ICs; Bentley Street —23 chains of footpath, £BO Heaaey Street—-extension to Worksop Road, £250; Wrigley Street—extension to Villa Street, £500; Villa Street—l 3 chains of' footpath on south side, £ls 103; Queen Street —footpaths, £510; Pine Street —footpaths, £824 10?; asphalt shed, £200; Ngaumatawa Road—construction, £75; Coliitnba Knad—formation,: £150; iork Street (if widened), £I3S; Junction Road, £120; Cross Street—widening, to threectuarters of a chain, £1,500; Park and Baths, £SOO. Though the above works are set down to bo carried out during the first year of the time over which the loan is spread, they will not all necessarily be carried out within the year, but will be completed as soon as possible.
