The first military outbreak, resulting from the present situation, occurred at Brestlitovsk. The siege artillery and two companies of fortress artillery mutinied.

The Vladikavkas regiment, with machine guns, surrounded them and arrested all the fortress artillery and two hundred and forty of the siege artillery; also a number o£ engineers. The mutineers wounded General SvanofE and another officer.

They also destroyed the Officers' Club.
