VALEDICTORY.

PRESENTATION TO MR L. tl. LEWIS.

At the meeting of the Masterton Fire Police, last evening, Mr L. H. Lewis, Secretary of the Fire Police, who is to be married on Thursday, was presented by the members of the Fire Police and the Ambulanoe Corps with a handsome dinner service.

Captain Dixon, in making the presentation, referred to the good work Mr Lewis had done for the Corps during the six years he had been secretary. He trusted that the Corps would long be able to retain Mr Lewis' services as secretary. On behalf of the Corps he wished Mr Lewis and his bride elect every success in their future life. Mr A. E. Wilton, on behalf of che members of the Ambulanoe Corps, spoke in eulogistio terms of the manner in which Mr Lewis bad carried out the duties of secretary to the Ambulance Corps. The members of the Corps extended to MiLewis and his bride elect their best wishes.

Mr Lowis suilnbly replied. He had been taken quite by surprise. The present would always remind him of the many pleasant days ho had spent with them. On behalf of his bride - elect and himself he thanked them heartily for their gift. Mr Lewis was greeted with cheered on resuming his seat.
