THE DYNAMITE OUTRAGE.
ADDITIONAL PARTICULARS. By Telegraph—Press Association. FEILDINU, July 23. Jt ia difficult to get further iufor- < mat ion about the explosion at Bunnythorpe, owing to the owners and police refusing admitauce to the tfcilding to everyone. Last year dried milk operations were suspended, owing to litigation in tba Old Country, and buttermaking waa resorted to. This caused considerable dissatisfaction amongst the suppliers, who had disposed of their calves and pigs, and bad no use for the skim mill*. Subsequently th 9 building was burned down, aud the work was believed to be that of an inceudiarj. The litigation having terminated in favour of the factory-owners, the building was re-erected, and it was intended to start operations next month.
A man who resided in the building waa not injured, and the engineer's residence alongside was not damaged. The explosive used is believed to have been gelignite, and the glass from the windows was blown some chains from the factory. Mr Bailey, eugineer-i'i-charge, who lives next to the factory, was •awakened at 2.30 o'olook on Sunday 'morning by two loud reports in -quick sacoession. /Be immediately 'dressed and went towards the factory, but just before starting another terriflo explosion took pace. The door of the boiler house, which had .not been loosed the previous day, was wide open. The damage is not very extensive. The boiler is completely wrecked, but the engine is only slightly damAged, and the opening of the factory, next month, will not be interfered with.
No trace of any fuse bas been found.
