WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
MEETING OP DIRECTORS.
The monthly meeting of the Directors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs T. P. Lett (chairman), J. Cross, J. McKillop, G. Stewart, E. E. Chamberlain, J. B. McKenzie, J. H. Pauling, T. Wyeth, A. Mcl ood and D. Guild. Messrs J. 15. Niool, A. Fraser and T. C. Irving were elected members of the Society. Three resignations were received. Mrs Seddon wrote acknowledging tho Society's message of sympathy in oonneofcion with the death of the late Premier. Mr U. Shannon wrote applying for the position of handicapper to the Society. The application was deferred until the new Directors were elected. The Directors, after considering the position taken up by tQo Borough Council with reference to the cycle track on the Park, decided that they would abandon oyole racing on account of the dangerous nature of the traok, especially that portion of it in front of the grandstand, unless the Borough Council can see their way to put the track in order.
