STOOK SALE REPORTS. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows:-r-At Martinfoorougb, on Thursday, the flooded state of the country prevented a (Treat numbeij of sbeep coining forward, cattle were also in shore sapply. The yarding of sheep, however, was good, and the attendanoe'satisfactory, but the swollen rivers pre- ." -vented many settlers from attending. Wethers sold readily with spirited bidding, but the bulk of the yarding comprised aged ewes in low condition for which there was limited demand. A satisfactory clearance, however, was made; Quotations are as under: Store wethers 16s 9d, down wethers 15s 6d, empty ewes 13s 6d, oull ewes 5s 3d to 9s 6d, small lambs 9s, 18-months steers (culls) 27s 6d, calves 8s 6d. AtEketahuna, on Friday, we drew a blank, although a ouuple of lines of sheep were advertised, but nothing came forward, much to the annoyance of buyers from > Masterton, Paniatua, etc, as well as a considerable number of settlers from the neighbouring districts. At Palmer•ston, on Thursday, only a few pens of sheep came forward, and a smaller entry of cattle than usual, the recent rough weather being aucoantable for this. A good line of 4-year ewes in lamb to Shropshire rams made 19s lid,, f.m. ewes in lamb 345, forward wethers 16s lOd, forward ewes 13s 9d, a small line of medium hoggets 8s Id, 3-year steers £3 7s, store cows 20s to 30s. At the various dairy sales held during the week good early calving cows have sold readily at prices ranging from £5 to £7. Mr Macaulay'a herd of €0 at Oroua Bridge averaged £6 9s. MARKET UEPORT.
