OBITUARY.
MR WILLIAM M. KING. Another old settler of the distriot, in the person of Mr William Mitohell King, died at his residence, Kuripuni, at 2.30 o'clock yesterday morning. The deceased was born in Perthshire, Scotland, on June lltb, 1831. Emigrating to New Zealand in the early sixties, he landed at Timaru. He followed bis trade, that of a carpenter, for some years in the South Island, and was married iu Dunedin in 1872. Shortly afterwards he settled in the North Island and for over thirty years he resided in Masterton. The deceased, who was a brother of Mr John King, survejor, of Masterton, has ieft five sons and four daughters to mourn their loss. His wife, who survives him, is a native of Lower Canada. The funeral will leave his late residence at 1.45 p.m. to-morrow.
