QUOITS.

OPAKI v. CARLTON. The Carlton team iourneyed to Opaki, yesterday, and played a match against the Opaki team. On arrival at the ground the teams exchanged oheers. An interesting match resulted. In the first round the scores were—Opaki 232, Carlton 173, majority for Opaki 59. In the pecond round the scores were—Opaki 232, Carlton 167, majority for Opaki 65. Totals—Opaki 46a, Carlton 340, majority for Opaki 124 points.

In a neat speech Mr Wyeth referred to the interesting games that had resulted. The Opakf Club had put the strongest team possible in the field, and it was no disgrace to the Carlton team to have been beaten. The Club would always be pleased to see the Carlton team visit Opaki. He was sur* the visiting Club would prosper so long as they had such an enthusiastic captain as Mr E. Welch.

Mr E. Welch suitably replied, and Chunked the Opaki team and especially the ladies for the hospitality shown to the visitors. The visitors were most hospitably entertained by the Opaki Club. A special word of praise is due to the lady members of the Club.
