METHODIST CONCERT.

A concert in aid of the Wesleyan Methodist Church Choir Fund was held in the schoolroom last evening. The room was crowded. The programme submitted was an excellent one, ani the various items were loudly applauded, and in several instances encored. The entertainment opened with a selection entitled "The New Colonial," played very nicely by an orchestra consisting of Messrs S Ralph (conduotor), R. Sutton, R. Boyes, W. Retter, T. Rodgers, H. Inns, G. Hutchison, G. L. Steward and J. Barrett. Mr \V. lggulden rendered "The Fog Bell" in his usual good style, and Mr J. Nicol was heard to advantage in "Out where* the breakers roar." Mr T. Rodgers was encored for a beautiful cornet solo, "Una," and a violin solo by Mr Retter entitled "Blumenlied," was a pleasing item. A very fine quartette, "The Three Chafers," was sung by Messrs Chilton, Redman, Ralph and Mannell. For her rendering of "Dear Home Land" Mrs Ashton was encored. Selected songs by Mr W. S. Jago, Miss M. Infield and Misses Daniell and Buttle were all well received. A quartette, "Basso Prnfundo," sung by Mrs Edwards, Miss N. Daniell, and Messrs Mnunell and Ralph, proved a very enjoyable item, and was encored. Another excellent; item was a duet, "Whun the Wind Blows From the Sea" b7 Mrb Edwards and Mr (Jhilton. Mrs Edwards and Mrs Sutton sang, respectively, "Barney O'Hea" and "Husbeen." Mr S. H. Ralph was enoored for his renderiag of "The Veteran's Song." Mr G. L. Steward gave an interesting recitation, entitled, "The Bivouac Fire." A trombone solo, "Pilgrim of Love," by Mr G. Hutohison, was warmly applauded. The accompaniments were played by Misses E. lggulden and L. Church, and Messrs R. Sutton, R. Boyes, and H. Inns. At the conclusion of the entertainment the Rev. J. N.
