DEBATE IN THE ASSEMBLY. Received July 18, 9.30 p.m. PIETERM ARITZBURG. July 18. The charges of inhumanity were debated in the Natal Assembly today. The Hon. T. Watt, Minister of Justice, denied that any act of barbarism had been committed by the military. r The methods employed bad been severe, bnt they were not inhuman. Tbe Dative levies might have killed some of the wounded without the European office.s knowing anything about it, but not to tbe same ext«nt as formerly.
