BRITISH MISSIONARY'S
POSITION.

A missionary labouring in the Congo Free Stpte states that the Governor-General of Congo refused to allow the British Vioe-Oonsul to obey Sir Edward Grey's instruction to act as counsel for the Rev. Edgar Stannard in the case in which he was recently fined 1,000 francs (£4O) on a charge of libelling Commandant Hagstrom, of the Congo police.
