COOK'S PICTURES.
A season of Cook's Living Pictures was inaugurated in the Masterton Town Hall last evening, and, despite the unpropitious weathev, there was a fairly large attendance,. Taken all througb,the entertainment was an excellent one, and the pictures shown were particularly good, and were snoh as would suit all tastes. The piotures were very distinct, and there was an absence of any i disagreeable flickering. Chief interest was oentred around the filmdepioting the well-knotf n play, "TheSign of the Gross." AH the priaoipal scenes from the great play were shown, and these were followed by the audience with great interest. Perhaps the best of the other films was the one entitled "Two Little Waifs." This series met with loud applause. Among the other motures that deserve special mention are the following:—"Saved by Kover," "Up in a Balloon," ".Our New Errand Boy," "The Tricky Donkey," "The American Train Robbery," and "The Sailor's Wedding," the latter being a particularly fine film. During the evening Mr Wynn sang three very pretty ballads, entitled "What the Brass Band Played," "She Waits by fcho Deep Blue Sea," and "Where the Sonfchern Eoaea Grow". The singer was warmly applauded. „ The management announce that there will be a matinee in the Town Hall this afternoon, at 3.30 o'clock. Children will be admitted to all parts of the house for 6d, while adults will be charged the ordinary rates. There will be another performance in the eveniug, at 8 o'clock. On both occasions there will be a complete change of programme. Among the clotures to bo shown this evening wjJI be "East Lynne" and tha wrestling match between Hacfeenschmidt and Jenkins.
