SWEDE, TURNIP AND MANGOLD GROWING.
MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIAIION'S COMPETITIONS. Matters in connection with the swede turnip and mangold growing competitions of the Masterton A. and P. Association were discussed at considerable length at the meeting of the General Committee of th 9 Association on Saturday. It was decided that the prizes in the competitions be as follows: —Turnips: First prize £3, second prize £2, for the best orop of three acres of turnips grown on ridged oc flat ground (open). Swedes: First priz ll £2, second prize £l, for the best orop of three acres of swedes grown on ridged ground; flrbt prize £2, and second prize £l, for the best crop of swedes grown on flat ground. Mangolds: First prize £2. second prize £l, for the best orop of man • golds grown on half an acre of land. The judging of the turnips will take place in tbo second week of April, and of the swedes in the first week of June. Entries are to be made one month previous to the date of the judging. The entry fees are as follows: —Members sa, non-mem-bers 10s.
