MASTERTON FIRE BRIGADE.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Masterton Fire Brigade was held, last evening, Captain Jenkins presiding. Leave of absence was granted to Bianchman Pickering. Letters were received from the Fire Brigade Supply Company, Messrs A. and T. Burt, R. Brown, and Shand Mason and Co., Loudon, dealing with various matters. Fireman Maher applied for a ttiree years certificate. Secretary Pragnell applied for a four years extra service bar, and Fireman Mo Ewen for a two years extra service bar. Secretary Fnwnoll reported thnt for the month of June four musters were recorded. The average attendances were:—Meetings 28, special meetings 18, alarms 16, average all musters 21^. The Seoretary submitted the annual report and balance-sheet, and the total musters for the year, which were adopted on the motion of the Chairman. Captain Jenkins presented Life Member D. A. Piokering with service honours for nine years, Branchtp&n Jenkins with an extra two years service bar, and Firemen Maher and Fielding with three years certificates. Mr S. Goldfinch was eleoted an aotive member, and Mr W. Mawhinney was eleoted an honorary member. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Captain, T. Jenkins (re-elected); first lieutenant, 0. A. Ewington (re eleoted); second lieutenant, F. Matthews (re-elected); senior foreman, B. Bragglns; junior foreman, E. Maher (re-elected); assistant engineer, E. Warner (reelected); first branohman, E. Jenkins; second bran ohm an, A. Piokering; third branohman, E. Warner; fourth branohman, T. Fielding; hydrantmen, first it. B. Chnrob, second, W. G. Norman, No. 2 Station: First branohman, P. Holmes; second branohman, JR. Harding; hydrantman, P. JorgenHen; custodian, P. Holmes; Finance Committee, Captain Jenkins, Lieutenant Ewington, Seoretaiy Pragnell, Firemen Johnston, Haugfapy and E. Jenkins. The Brigade decided to play a card tournament with the Ban Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs MoLeod and Young, Mr J. Symes, the retiring Finanoe Committee, auditors, scrutineers, and the Press.
