STOCK REPORT.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy 00. report at their Maaterton fortnightly stock sale yesterday:—We had a fair average yarding in sheep all classes with the exoeption of wethers being represented. The quality varied very much, good sorts being well competed for; aged and faulty dragging, all bat one pea of the latter failing to sell. - In cattle only a few pens were occupied. Beef selling, stores not reaching owners' reserves. [ln medium ewes one speoial good line reached 17s bd, medium 10s to 12s 6d, others sorts 6i to Bs, best lambH up to lis, medium 10s, other sorts 8s to 9s 6d, heavy fat ewes 17a, fat cows £4 sa. For the forthcoming wool sales, 176,000 bales have been received to date, of which number 75,000 bales have been forwarded direct to the manufacturers, leaving 110,000 bales available.
