THE NAVAL MANOEUVRES.
Received July 4, 7.4G a.m. LONDON, July 3. The naval manoeuvres have closed. Admiral Sir William May's fleet, though losing several battleships, evaded a decisive encounter. ' Using oil fuel, they shook off their £pursurers, obtained temporarily command of the Channel, and threatened to bombard the ports unless indemnities were paid. Admiral Sir Arthur K. Wilson claims that he destroyed the enemy's power and orippled commerce, while the destruction of the enemy's fleet was assured.
