VEGETABLE PIE. Cover tho bottom of a well-battered pie dish with thick slices of tomato, then put a layer of mashed potatoes, and with alternate layers fill the dish nearly to the top. Season with pepper and salt, oyer all pour a beaten egg, and finish off with a thick crust of bread crumbs. Bake till done.^ To some people it seems a waste of time to worry about food ; but our liws depend upon our having nourishing, wholesome food, whichj however, is useless to anyone whose digestive system is out of order. The moat serious and most dangerous symptoms of indigestion is constipation, which is not only a sign of existing disease, but which, if neglected, becomes the cause of many others, skin eruptions, piles, inflefmmation of the bowels, appendecitis, and of minor troubles, headaches, and aches of all kinds, loss of appetite, flatulence, depression, bad dreams. A pill that works violently, relievos the bowela for a short time, but it weakens them so that reaction follows, and gradually the constipation grows more persistent, eventually, becoming chromo. A medicine, whose action is gentle, and at the same time thorough and lasting, is contained in Doan's Dinner Pills, which are compounded of vegetable drugs of the purest character. Doan's Dinner Pills are sold by all ohemists and storekeepers, or will be posted on receipt of price by Foster-McClollan Co. 76 Pitt-street, Sydney. Sample free for Id stamp.
