The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Co., report on their Efeetahuna stock sale, held yesterday, as follows:—Sheep were well represented, all lots selling under the hammer at sound rates. We offered no cattle. Best ewes made 14s Bd, medium lis, culls 6s 7d to Bs, small lumbs 6s Id to 7s 6d, aged rams %gn. A filly and sundries found ready purchasers. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., 1 held their fortnightly ealo at the Eketahuna yards , yesterday, when about 1,500 sheep, and 150 head oattle came forward. The entry was chiefly on account of Mr J. H. Hording, who has leased his property, and the fact of the stock being for unreserved sale, attracted a large number of outside buyers. Tbe quality of the sheep being good, bidding was particularly animated, and all lines found ready sale under the hammer. Competition for cattle was not keen, but practically all lines were disposed of. The quality and condition of the cattle was inferior, and this accounts for the very low prices realised. On Mr Harding's account 2-tocth ewes in lamb sold at 17s 5d,'4-tooth to f.f.m. ewes in lamb 17s, ewe hoggets 12s sd, wether hoggets lis 9d, oulls 7s , 2d to 8s lOd. On other vendors account forward 2-tootb wethers reached 16s Id to 16s 9d, soundmouth ewes in lamb 13s 6d, medium ewes in lamb lis 6d to lis 9d, oulls ss. On Mr Harding's account b and 4-year bullocks sold at 80s, forward empty cows 695, others 555, cows in calf 41s to 665, heifers in calf 30s to 495. On other venddrs' account forward bullocks ICOs, 18-months steers 32s 6d, dairy cows to 60s, 2year steers 545, yearlings 31s, beifers\ in calf 35s to 40s.
