FATALITIES.
CHRISTCHURCH, June 24. A young woman named Eva Ma'id Eason attempted to board the 4 o'clock train from Ohristchuroh to Lyttelton yesterday afternoon while it was in motion, but fell between the station platform ana the train. She was dragged along for some distance, sustaining concussion of the brain and severe bxuises. She died shortly after admission to the hospital. At the inquest held this afternoon a verdiot of accidental death ■was returned.
A two-year-old child named May Lettie Fleming whose parents live at Methven, died on Friday from burns accidentally reoeived that morning while its mother was away from the house.
