The Western Star (Otago) says:"An amusing unci novel spectacle was witnessed on a public road near Rivertou one evening recently. A well-known motorist was approaohingthe town at a rattling race, when he became aware that the road was blocked by a refraotory horse attached to a wagon load of rabbits. Tho driver had almost worn out his whip, and entirely exhausted his extensive and rather lurid vocabulary in endeavours to make the animal "ceo," but without success. The motorist offered his condolence. and was suddenly etrnok with a brilliant scheme to assist the afflioted wßggoner. Part of his apparatus, consisted of a couple of stout chains, and these he fastened to the horse's collar Ho then started his motor, and tho horse, violently resisting, was dragged along the road, and forced lo asuond the small hill at which he had struck. Oomio papers have a penchant for exhibiting broken-down motors being drawn (o tho repairing shop, by disreputable equines, but on this occasion the motor certainly scored.
