LONDON MAKKfeIT ADVICES. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cables from their London office, under date of the 34th instant:— gjTallow—All sorts, excepting prime mutton, higher by 3d to (5d per owt. ' Frozen ivient—Sineo cur advices of the 7th instant, the market ia unchanged. Butter—The market is firm, and prices are higher by one kroner (about Is Id p«r owt). The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 9th instant amounted to 79,000 cwt, as compared with 84,000 cwt for the corresponding week or 1905.
NEW ZEALAND BEEP AND MUTXON. SMITEPIELD MARKET REPORT. (p'rom Our Loudon Correspondent). LONDON, April 27. The consumption of New Zealand mutton has of late been much below the average. Prices are not kept up, and it seems the margin between New Zealand and South American meat will have to be still further reduced before buyers will return to the colonial artiale. Canterbury sheep is being quoted at 4d to North Island to 4d. The same thing applies to b«ef. South America is holding the mar ket at prices ranging between 2%d to 2%d per lb, and to 2)£d for forequarters. Here are a few prices issued from Snrithfield last week:—Scotch mutton, 4a 7d to se, per eight lbs; English mutton, 4s 5d to 4s 8d per 81bs; New Zealand mutton, best 2s 9d to 2e lid, per 81bs; New Zealand mutton, second 2s 6d to 2s Bd, per 81bs; Australian mutton, Is lid to 2s 2d. per 81 bs; Plate mutton, 2s to 2s sd, per 81b»; New Zea'aDd lamb, 2s 9d to 3s 4d, per 81bs; Australian lamb, 2s 4d to 2s 96* per 81bs; Australian beef (fores), la 5d to Is 7d, per Slbe; Australian beef •. (binds), 1b lid, per 81bs; Plate beef (fores), Is 0d to Is Bd, per 81bs; Plate beef (■hinds), Is 9d to Is lid; American beef (foree), 2s to 2s 3d, per 81bs; Amerioau beef (hinds), 2s 8d to 3s 2d, perßlbs; Argentine beef, (fores), Is 7d to is Bd, per 81 bs; Argentine beef (hinds), Is lOd to 2s Id, per 81 bs.
New Zealand butter is improving; it is fetching 98s to 100s against 51s to 94s per cwt. New Zealand obeese is in good demand at 65s to 66s for coloured and 62a to 64s for white per cwt. New Zealand rabbits are plentiful and difficult to sell at the prices asked The Mongolia and Nairnshire between them have brought over 8,500 orates.
