OBITUARY.
MR JOHN MOBRIS. Another old resident of Masterton, Mr John Morris, died at his residence, Homobush, yesterday, at tho age of 72 years. Deceased, who came to tho colony in the Wild Duck in 18G6, was a native of Kilmainy, Fifeshire, Scotland, and had resided in the Masterton district, where be had boon engaged in agricultural and pastoral pursuits during the last-forty years. Mr Morris had bean thoroughly trained in farming, and was considered the most practical farmer iu the district in the early 'days. There are many farmers at the present time who owe their success to tho knowledge obtained from his methods. xMc Morriß was of a reciriug disposition, and took no part in public affairs, but ho has ever been recognised as a staunch friend and obliging neighbour. About throe years ago Mr Morris visited his native land, the onlj time he had left the district since he arrived in the colony. Deceased has always enjoyed excellent health, and is said to have never known a day's illness till a few weeky ago, when he caught a cold, which created complications that ultimately caused bis death. A widow, two sons, Messrs John and Joseph Morris, and one daughter, Mrs Angus Fraser, are left to mourn their loss. The funeral will take place to-morrow, leaving Homebush at 2 o'clock.
