WESTPORT NEWS.
WESTPOKT. May 3.1. There is an extraordinfty demand for WestDort coal, in spite of the f.ct that the, Westport collieries are working double time. Steamers have to wait their turn for two or three days before cargoes can be provided. The Westport Harbour Board have received advice that several large shipping companies in London ar& now * prepared to enter into the foreign jitrade and urging them ta provide early tiie facilities for handling large tonnage. The Board baa received authority to extend the eastern breakwater as recommended by the Board's engineer, with a view to increasing the depth of water on the bar.
