„— m ,„, -■— QUESTION OF OPENINU CEREMONY. Matters relating to the Borough Abattoir were discussed at the meeting of the Masterton Borough Council last evening. Tbe inspector and manager reported that everything was in readiness for the opening of the Abattoir on Friday, Juno Ist. The Town Clerk stated that no tenders had been received for the removal of offal. Tho inspector, however, had made arraugotneuts to bury it. Cr Eton asked whether the Mayor had arranged for any official opening of the worUs. The Mayor replied that he did not think it was necessary to have an official opening. The Councillors were quite at liberty to witness the slaughtering of the first beast at tho works on Friday, if they wished.
