♦■.- - .■■■ . —■ PARK COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION. The report of the Park Committee submitted to the meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, last evening, contained au item recommending the Council to vote £25 to the Masterton Municipal Baud, the Band to give in 1 return entertainments in the Park and other places when required. The Mayor stated that the Park Committee had always been credited with aoting on true business lines, but on this occasion they had departed from what was the true business line of the Council by votiug money when they did not know what money the Counoil had to spend. Or Ewington, ohairman of the Park Committee, explained that the Committee had only made the recommendation so that it could be discussed when the Estimates for the year came up for considoratiou. Finally, on the motion of Or McEwen, seconded by Cr Pauling, that portion of the report referring to the voting of £25 to the Band was.held over for consideration until the Estimates were being considered.
