LONDON MARKET ADVIOES. Dalgety and Company, Ltd , Wellington, nave received the following from their London office, dated 23rd instant:— I Tallow—Market firm without ' change in prioes; believe prices have raeohed their highest. Frozen Meat—Since our cable of the 17th instant," prices for N.Z. frozen lamb - are at par to %& hjgher. Frozen mutton:— Arty change in prices in favour of buyers. - ' Wool—The sales closed without further, change. . Sooured Merino wools, prioes are on the average 5 per cent higher than closing rates of last series, other descriptions of Merino wool, at par to 5 per cent higher; the advance iB chiefly on sooured wools. Medium and good qualities of fine and medium crossbred wools, price's are unchanged. Coarse orossbred wools, higher by Isto 1% per cent, except shabby and dingy. Prioes all round are rather'higher than last series closing rates. Total OoloJfal wools available, stocks, 166,000 bales. Gut of dfipet quantity available for sale. 91,000 balep have been sold for Home consumption, 57,000 bales for the Continent, 9,000 bales for America, leaving 9,000 bales to be carried forward to next series. Butter (Londonj 24th May). Danish butter higher by 2 Kroner about (2s 3d) per'owt., in consequence of active demand in Germany; consequently, good demand for strictly fine quality, but secondclass quality, any change in price is in favour , to. buyers. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the weeu ending the 19th instant amounted to 82,000 owt. and the same quantity was imported during the corresponding week of 1905. WELLINGTON SALES. LEVIN AND COMPANY. Messrs Levin and Company, Limited, report under date 25th May:— We offered to-day 60 baled of wool, 2,000 skina, 300 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool was keenly competed for at last sale prices; Orutohinga met with brisk competition at advanaing prices. We quote—Coarse crossbred to 10% d; inferior and logstained, to 9%d; pieces and fellies, 7d to 7&d; locks, 3d to sd; good lambs wool, lOd to lid; medium, 9d to 9%d; seedy, ings, superior, 8d to 9d; crutohings, good, to 8d; crutohings, seedy and inferior, to 5%d. Skins: —There is no change to record. We quote—Merinos, 9d to fine orossbreds, 9d to lOd; coarse, crossbreds 9d to 9%d: dead skins, 8d to short wools, to woolly skins green, 7s to 8s; woolly lambs skins green, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; lamb pelts 3s to 3s lOd Tallow:— Casks 21s 3d; tins 18s; sacks 13s 9d. Horsehair:—ls 6d to 2s per lb. Horns:—7s to 18s per 100. Hides: —Have taken, an unexpected upward movement and prices advanced %d per lb. Ox hides, 5%d to 5%d lb; oow hides, sJ£d to 5%d per lb: out and silppy hides, 4d to sd; calf skins 5d to G%d. The next sale will be held on the Bth June, 1906. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE CO. report:—At our fortnightly sale on Friday last we offered a fair-sized catalogue of wool, sheepskins, hides and tallow. Buyers were in good force and bidding brisk on level of laet sales rates with exception of hides which improved to the extent of %& per lb owing to improved, tone of Australian markets. We quote—Wool:—Stragglers ooarse crossbred 9d to 9%d; crutohings, i clean and free from seed, 8d to 8)^d; seedy, to 7%d; pieoes and bellies, to 7d.. Sheepskins:— Sound half-woolled cross bred, 9>£d to lOd; short woolled, to 9%d; half bred meriuo, 9}/ 2 d to lOd; broken and dead 7d to B%d; lambs, Sy 2 d to lOd per lb. Hides:—Sound oxand cow, s>£d to 6d; cut slippy and scored, 3}4A to 4}£d per lb; calf from 4%d to 5%d. Tallow:— Good mixed in casks 22s to 22s 6d per owt, in tins for good 18s and 14s to 15s Gd for inferior. ♦ dalgety and company. Messrs Dnlgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual fortnightly wool, skin and hide sale on Friday afternoon, when there was a larger attendance of buyers than usual. Bidding was fairly animated, and prices for wool were on a par with last sale. Sheep- . skins showed an advanoe of J£d on really good lines, but inferor skins were ruling at the same rates. Hides advanced to >£d« oa last sale rates for good quality and well conditioned. We quote— Wool:—Crossbred fleece, 9%d to inferior ofossbred, 9d to9>£d; lambs, inferior, B>£d; crutohings, to 7%d; pieoes 4%d; scoured locks, to Sheepskins:— Crossbred, 9%d to lOd; half-wool, 9d to Jambs, full-woolied, 8d to damaged and inferior, 7>£d to 8d; butohers green, medium weights, 6s 9d to 7s 2d eaoh; salted 5s 9d to 7s 5d eaoh. Horsehair, Is 7d per lb. Tallow, in casks', 22s 6d per owt.; in tins, 17s 6d per owt. Hides:—Heavy ox, 6d per lb; medium, sjs£d per lb; slippy ox, 4%d to 4%d; cows, heavy, 5%d; medium, 5%d; slippy cows, 3%d to 4%d; prime calf, 6%d per lb; inferior, 6d to | 6>£d; yearlings, 5%d.
