Workman, Hall, Smith, Wickeus, Hastings, Wines, Fuller, Williams, Wi, Perkins. Greytown lost the toss, and kicked off against the wind. For a long time there was some tight, uninteresting play, neither ~ side having much the better ot the game. Then P. .Rogers, lying on the ball after a tackle, was penalised, and Frank Johnson plaoed a fine goal'. Cartwton 3, Greytown nil. The remainder of the first spell was a repetition of the former portion, P. Rogers and M. MoGuire putting in some good defensive work for Greytown. The second spell was much morn interesting from the spectators point of view, being fast and open. Carterton kicked off, and a Greytown back mulling the ball, the Carterton forwards swept down, and Mason, who was in the lead and playing a fine game, snapped up the ball and dashed over the line. The try was converted. Carterton 8, Greytown nil. The play for the remainder of the apell was mainly la favour of Carterton, though J. Workman, who was Bhowing some of his old form, got as far as the Carterton posts, where he was collared.. Eventually D. Thompson got away with the ball at his feet, with only one man to pass. This player illegally tackled Thompson, aDd Carterton were awarded a free kick. The result was a pretty gaol. Soon afterwards time sounded, leaving Carterton winners by 11 points to nil. Mr A. B. Charters was referee. Carterton did not play up to expectations, and will have to play a better game if they wißta to beat Red Stars in the next match. Their backs did not work well together, and their viotory was due to their forwards. Sid Mason played a fine game, as did H. MoKenzie, F. Johnson, Saunders and Henderson. P. Rogers and M. MoGuire were the mainstay of the Greytown backs, and J. Workman was a tower of strength to their forwards. WELLINGTON v. WAIRARAPA. The following team has been chosen by the selectors, Messrs 0. Owing to the short notice given by the Wellington Union, the looal authorities have been plaoed at a disadvantage, two or three men whose claims would have been considered being unable to arrange for the trip. The shortness of the notice ia also to be regretted in that there will be no possibility of getting the picked team together before the match. BUSH RUGBY UNION. (Speuial to Agei. NIREAHA vi.'HUKANUI. The senior match between Nireaha and Hukanui was played, at Nireaha on Saturday, and after a very evenly contested game resulted in a draw, eaoh side securing a trythree points. Hukanui,. playing with the wind, kicked-off. Give and take play was indulged in for some time, mostly in Nireaha's 25. A penalty kiok by Foss for Hukanui was fruitless. From the kick out the game became faster and more "willing." The Hukanui forwards kept the ball in their opponents' 25. Good work was put in by Blake and Stevens for Hukanui; the defence, however, was too solid, Young, Quinlau and E. Gillnane playing well. From a loose bit of play Popplewoll secured the ball. He passed to Main, who transferred to Foss. The latter passed to Benge, who dashed over and scored. It was a fine passing rush, and the best during the game. Foss took the kiok, but no goal resulted. Determined and quick rushes now shifted play into Hukanui's 25, and Nireaha were within an aoe of scoring. Main and Morris, however, saved their side, the former returning by a timely line kick. In the second half the Nireaha supporters expected their men to show up 'better. But the defence of the Hukanui threel-quarter line was too solid. The game soon became fast and exciting. Young, for Nireaha, kicked well, and repeatedly saved his side. He was ably assisted

by the Quiulan brothers and Giuna»e (wing tnreequarter). The back division of Hukanui played a good gftojo. Morris made a splendid run along tlio lino, being pulled down near the comer flag. After this more give and take play was indulged in, chiefly amongst the back division. The ball was eventually worked inside Hukanui'a 25. From a fast follow up Robinson eeoured the ball, and got over the line, for Nireaha. The kick at goal tailed. ! The whistle then soundod with the ' score:— Hukanni ... ••• 3 Nireaha 3 Mr F. D. Felling gave every satisfaction as referee. HAMUA v. KONINI.
