WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
MEETING OF DIRECTORS. A meeting of the Directors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs J. B. MoKenzie (chairman), T. P. Lett;, J. Cross, J. MoHattie, A. MoLeod, J. H. Pauing, Hi. E. Chamberlain, and K. H. Waddington. The President's action in ordering a wreath to be purchased and placed on the grave of the late R. Mathieson, honorary piper of the Society, was endorsed. The resignation of Mr E. Heoksher, as a member of the Society, was accepted. The question of holding an "lngleside" was discussed. Mr Pauling explained that the meaning of the term was a social evening free to all members of the Society, at which Scottish songs and dances would be given. Wherever he had known such gatherings to be held they had always been a suooess. It was generally admitted that the suggestion was a good one and would be the means of increasing the membership of the S,ooiety. Finally it was decided to hold an "logleside," thw cost to be borne by the Society,' and a oommittee was appointed to make the preliminary arrangements, and report to a meetfing of the directors on the 6th prox. The question of improving the cycling track at the Park Oval was discussed, and it was resolved "that the Society was preparer to bear its share of the oost of the work on condition that the other sports societies and the Park Committee bear their portion of the cost on terms to be arranged by the President and Secretary of the Sooiety."
