IMMIGRATION POLICY. Received May 25, 11.47 p.m. LONDON, May 25. In the House of Uommone, in replying to Mr Kedmond, Mr Runciman stated that Lord Elgin was pursuing exactly the same polioy of Australasian immigration as was outlined by the Colonial Conference of 1897, and consistently observed by Messrs Chamberlain and Lyttelton.' Lord Elgin had every reason to believe that the Australasian Governments fully recognised that the question of emigration bad a direct bearing oa the external relations of the colonies, and no doubt their Governments would oontinue to give full weight to the views of the Imperial Government. Mr W. Churchill was absent from the House, as he is suffering from influenza.
