TALLOW MARKET. Received May 24, 10.20 a.m. LONDON, May 23. At the tallow sales 1,075 casks were offered, and 625 sold. Prices are unchanged.

WOOL 'MARKET. By Telergaph—Press Association. Received May 24, 10.20 a.m. LONDON, May 23. The wool sales closed slightly irregular, though generally at top prices. Ngakonui sold at 13% d; Okaia 13^d. ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. OHRISTCHURCH, May 23 At Addington live stock market, to-day, there were large entries of sheep, cattle and pigs and a Rood attendance There was a lair sale for etore sbeop, and fat lambs were firm at the previous week's rates. Prime boef sold well. There was a slight advance in fat wethers, and prime ewes were firm; others were easier. Good dairy oowa sold well, but there was little demand for stores. Fat pigs were in good demand, and stores sold rather better than of late. Store sheep.— The yarding of etore sheep was made up principally of wethers and lambs, nearly all in small lot, and there was a very Rood demand foi all classes. A lice of 109 full mouth ewes sold at 12a 6d, small lots of old ewes 7s 2d to 9s 4d, 387 forward wetheis 18s Id, 77 stores 15s 6d. 756 two tooths 13s 4d to 13s 46d, 185 4at 12a 3d; 282 at 12s, 115 culls 9s 4d, 239 lambs 9s Id, 24 ewe lambs lis 6d smaller lots 8s to 12s Bd. Fat lambs.—There was again a large entry of fat lambs, totalling 6,211, and including some very fine lines, and also some mixed and unfinished sorts. The range of. prices was 16a 6d to 19s for prime, and 138 6d to 15s for light and medium. Fat sheep.-—There was a very large mixed yarding of fat sheep, a fair proportion being prime heavy wethers and ewes. There was good competition throughout the sale, and prioes closed firm, prime wethers and ewes showing a slight advance, while aged and inferior ewes were cheaper. Range of prices—Prime wethers 21s to 24s Id, extra to 25s 3d, others from 17s 6d; prime heavy, ewes 17s to 18s 6d, extra to 20s, medium to good 15s to IGs 6d, aged 12s to 14s 6d; good merino wethers 14s 7d to 15s 9d. Fat cattle—The entry of fat cattle totalled 266. There was some prime heavy stores and some well-finished handy weight heifers, but a considerable portion of the yarding was composed of unfinished steers. There was a good demand, especially for prime steers, and for these prices were rather firmer. Steers made £slss to £l2 2s 6d, heifers £4 J 5 s tto £7 17s 6d, cows £4 5s to £7 15s, and one extra to £9 equal to 20s to 21s for prime, 17s to 19s for medium, and 15s to 16s 6d for cow and inferior, per 1001b. A good line .of veal oalves sold at 7s 6d to £2 5s and one extra large sucker £4. v DUNEDIN GRAIN MARKET. DUNEDIN, May 23. • Wheat—Millers are well stocked, and not anxious to buy on a large scale. Prime Tuscan, however, commands ready sale. Medium milling quality has only limited enquiry, but fowl wheat is readily quoted at last rates. .Quotations:—Prime milling Tuscan, 3s 5d to 3s 6d; prime milling velvet and red chaff, 3s 3d to 3s sd; medium milling 3s l}£d to 3s 2>£d; fceat fowl wheat 3s to 3s Id; broken and damaged, 2s 9d to 2s lid per bushel,' sacks extra. Oats—A fair quantity has ohanged hands during the week. There is praotically no change in values, although good bright oats aie, if any thing, firmer. Quotations:—Prime milling 2s to 2s4>£d; good to best feed 2a l%& no 2s 2>£d; inferior and medium 2a to 2s id per bushel, sacks extra.
