Received May 24, 8.44 a.m. LONDON, May 23. Giving evidence before the War Stores Uommission, appointed last year to make a careful enquiry into the errors or malpractices of certain contractors who supplied stores for the army during the South African war, Colonel J. E. Hamnett, of the Army Servioe Corps, admitted receiving £2OO from James Morgan army contractor. Witness explained that ho was temporarily demoralized by the life in South Afrioa.
