WANGANUI TRAINING NOTEo, By Telegraph—Press Association. WANGANUI, May 22. Heavy showers fell during the night and made the track heavy. Amongst the first to work this morning were St. Olaimer, St. Maria and Defoe. The last named is very well and strode three rounds at a solid pace. The two former did fast sprints. Playfair beat Eangiwhenua easily over seven furlongs. Anadeja, Touderghie and Comfort (the last named being 4n capital nick) performed serviceable work. Hawhiti and Maharauui galloped two rounds together at a solid pace. Fast work was allotted Eurus, Phaetonitis, Aeolus and Deatruotion. Albuera aud Dnil galloped Ave furlongs; the latter hart easily the best of the go, the distance being covered in lmin 73ec. Mocassin covered three circuits at three-quarter pace, moving nicely. Eclair and Weary Bill did serviceable gallops. Miss King and South Star went two rounds over fences The latter jumped well in the first round and then tired. Miss King cleared tbe obstacles in flue style going strongly at the finish. The pair then went round on the flat. Pushful and Sleepwell did two rounds over hurdles, both jumping splei/didly. Shrapnel Shell was a bit lame after doing onco round. Submarine beat ldassa and tiuroki over a mile, run in lmin 51seo. Black Reynard, Armamenlo, The Voucher, St. Lyra, Hydrant, Sedgmoor and many others did aseful work. The ■weather is not improving. - -
