FEMALE FRANCHISE.
DEPUTATION TO TBE BRITISH PREMIER. Received May 21, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, May 20. Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman, Prime Minister, replying to a deputation of 550 women advocates of female suffrage, who waited upon him at tbe Foreign Office with a manifesto representing 750,300 signatures, said the deputation was conducive evidence of an irrefutable case. The Government, however, was not united as to 'the expediency of acting in the 1 matter, and he must preach patience. The reply was hissed. Meetings of protest were subsequently held on the Thames Embankment aud in Trafalgar Square. "THE GREAT EXPERIMENT IN AUSTRALASIA." Reoeived May 21,11 p.m. LONDON, May 21. The Times says that before venturing on Woman's Suffrage, England had better wait tbe result of the great experiment in Australasia.
