. ROVER v. EKETAHUNA. The Eketahuna Club forfeited their match to the Carterton Rover team, owing to being unable to pat a team in the flnld. The match was to have been played at Masterton. The Eketahuna (Jlub anticipate havinga fiirly good team to play against Martinborough, at, Carteriou, oa May 24th.

ALBION H. v. KIA TOA. The first football match this season in connection with the. Wam--rapa Thursday Rugby Union Junior Championship, between Alhion 11. of Masterton, and the Kia Toa, was played at Eketahuna yesterday, and resulted in a win for the local club by the narrow margin of one point. The game was in tore sting, and well contested from the start. Kia Toa kioked off, and the ball being returned loose and scrum work was indulged in. Prom a scrum the ball was pioked up by Hansen, land then passed to the centre threequarte , E. Piendeville, who put in a short, dodgy run, being brought down by Ross. The bail was then worked up and down the flpJd, smart work being done by Nioholls, Frederickson and Prendeville for Kia Toa, aud Rose, Digftins and Flaws for Albion. Kia Toa repeatedly attacked, but could not brean through the solid defence of the visitors. Through a good line i kick by Langston the ball was taken into the Kia i Toa's 25. From a throw-in Flaws neatly picked up,' and by a short, quick run, dashed over the line near the posts. The ball was nearly put over the bar by Langston. ■ N In the second spell play was similar to that indulged in in the flrat part of the game, From a freekiok for off-side E. Preudeville notched three points by n splendid kiok. The game now became faster, the visitors' forwards being much in evidenoe. ' From a scrum near the line the ball was passed from Pre'ndeville to Murrell, who scored. The kick at goal failed The score now stood—Kia Toa 6 Doints; Albion 5 po'nts, aud was unaltered when the whistle sounded. The forwards of both teams were evenly matched. Aulin, Nioholls and Frederickson were best for the winners, whilst E. Prendeville, as centre-threequarter, played the best game on the ground, his short, dodgy runs and kicking being equal to senior form,

Flaws played an excellent game for the visitors, and was ably assisted bv Ken. Ross and Diggins. Mr Polling, who refereed, gave every satisfaction. ALBION 111. v. ROVER 111. The Albion 111. met the Rover 111. on the Carterton Reserve yesterday. The game resulted in a win for the Rovers by 16 points to 3 points. For the winners Fairbrother (2),' Hulley and Vickerstaff scored tries, two of which were converted. Buokeridge scored a try for the Albions. Kempton, Millar - and Galyer were the pick of the Albion forwards, while W. Flaws • and Buokeridge played well amongst the backs. Towards the end of the game F. Jackson, of the Albions, sprained his ankle an-d had to retire. Mr K. Armstrong was referee. MASTERTON I v. RED STAR I. The following team will represent Masteiton against Red Stars, on Saturday, at the Showgrounds:— Hatch, Baker, O'Leary, Millar, O'Leary, Logan, Gray, Spaokman, Marcbant, Jenkins, Lyall, Osborne, Ouggan, McKellar, King. The Bush Rugby Union held a general meeting in the Hamua Hotel, Mr J. li. Eaton presiding. Delegates from the following clubs were present:—Hamua, Husanui, Konini, Nireaba. Representatives from the clubs in the recently proposed Ruahine Rugby Union were, also, present, and applied for affiliation. It was deoided to admit th« clubs. The following fixtures for the Saturday teams were drawn up:— May 19th—Hukanui v Konini, at Hukanui. Nireaha v. Hamua, at Nireaha. May 26th--Nireaha v. Hukanui, at Nireaba. Konini v. Hamua, at Hamua. June 2nd—Nireaba v. Konini, at Nireaha. Hamua v, Hukanui, at llamua. June 9th—Konini v. Hukanui, at Konini. Hamua v. Nireaha, at Hamua. June 16th—Hukanui, v. Nireabs," at Hukanui. Kohini v. Hamua, at Konini. June 23rd.—Konini v. Nireaba, at Konini. Hukanui v. Hamua. at Hukanui. The Wednesday teams will continue to play the fixtures drawn up by the late Ruahine Rugby Union.
