Sir,—Would His Worship the Mayor or Mr Brown, Town Clerk, kindly furnish, through your col umns, a'list of the properties suggested by them to the Premier as suitable for closer settlement round Masterton.—Fours, etc, J. Sir,—Alluding to the letter of "Interested Parent," the following description of the cottages now being built by the Government for workers' homes, may be of some interest to the working men of Masterton:—One of the accepted designs is for a briok cottage, two storied. Looated on the ground flo6r is a hall, a sitting room, 14 ft by 10ft, and kitohen, 12ft by lift, along with soullery, wash-house, etc. The upper floor will be three bedrooms and bathroom; the roof tiles. The seoond design is for a fiveroomed cottage, one storied dwelling, with same conveniences as those quoted above. Both designs make handsome and osmfortable dwellings in every way.—l am, etc., ' _ PROGRESS.
