SLAVERY IN COLUMBIA.
Received May 11, 8.17 a.m. LONDON. May 10. The Ottawa correspondent of The Times states that the report that slavery exists among the Indians, and that Indian girls are being sold at auction by relatives in Northern British Columbia, is confirmed. In one instance, it is stated, a sou offered hia mother for sale as o slave. The Department of Indian Affairs has taken drastic steps to stop the praotioes.
