(Prom Our Own Correspondent). Monday. The new Town Hall was opened on the sth instant. The weather was very wet, which spoiled the gathering to a certain extent. The Rev. J. H. Sykes, in declaring the hall open, congratulated the trustees on the energy displayed in having such a handsome and large building erected, and also the contractor, Mr , G. Benton, for the general satisfaction given. Mr Sykes also made enlogistio reference to the work of Mesdames J. S. Langdon, J. Johnston, A. T. Hancock, R. T. La.ugdon, J. Chapman, and D. £l. Speedy, in oonneotion with tie ball. Danoing was kept up till a late . hour, the music being supplied by Mr F. MoKenzie.
