In referenoe to the cable meaaage from Sydney, on Tuesday, regarding prison statistics, the Wellington correspondent of the Ohristohurch Press, finds from enquiries that the percentage of Australians in our prisons oannot be obtained without a good deal of enquiry. The authorities do not believe fthat there-are 352 New Zealanders in the New South Wales gaols, but that this number represents the number of convictions recorded against New Zealanders in a year.
