EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
N.Z. COMPETITION. BLENHEIM, April 30. The New Zealand Egg laying Competition concluded the year's list , tonight, with a grand aggregate of 86,339. The ten pizes were won as follow Leger's White Leghorns, 1,373; Brooks' White Leghorns, 1,241; Marlborough A. and P. Association's x White Leghorns. 1,190: Miss Shaw's White Leghorns, 1,188 f Hodgson's White Leghorns, 1,1.74; Ashforth's Silver Wyandottes 1,163; Murphy's Black Orpingtons, 1,143; Hockey's Black Orpingtons. 1,140; Priddle's White Leghorns and Miss Edwards' White Leghorns 'tie) 1,132. The total for nine days was 416. UTILITY CLUB.
OHRISTCHUROH, April hO. The New Zealand Utility Poultry Club's Egg-laving Competition, at Lincoln College, concluded on Sunday. The results for the year were as follow:—H. Hawke's (Greytown i Silver Wyandottes, 1,280; «L H. Shaw's Brown Leghorns, 1,002; R. E. M. Evans? Silver Wyandottes, 390; J. Mann's White Wyandotteß, 983; A. Tyree's Black Orpingtons, 923: A. M. Price's Buff Orpingtons, 903; A. H. Bristed's Buffi Orpingtons, 900. The seoond competition* which comprises I.CO pens, will start to-morrow.
