ANOTHER RAILWAY FATALITY AT CHRISTCHURCH.
J A OLEKK KILLED. i CHRISTCHURCH, April 28. About 5 o'clook this afternoon another railway fatality occurred, which caused the death, of Joseph Thornton, a clerk, who was em ployed in the goods yard at the Cbristcburch Railway Station. It is alleged that Thornton, who was on the scutb side of the train, wished to get over to the northern side, and for that purpose went between the truoks when the train was at a standstill. However, the driver did not notice what had happened. and started to shunt the truoks. The sudden jerk probably caused Thornton lo fall and the trucks passed over him, cutting him about severely, and nearly severing one of his arms. When picked up he was alive, but expired shortly afterwards. It is stated that the deceased was a married man,, and lived in Christchurch.
