In the Dominion House of Commons,, Mr'vHdndergon, representing the Halton electorate, said.if he had the; , opportunity he Would oanoel preference to th'e Motherland. 1 Mr Fisher, Minister of Agriculture, expressed regret that such a remark should have been made and attributed it to political hostility. He proceeded to justify bis Montreal speeoh and added that if Britain imposed a tax on food imported for the wurkers she would impair the purobaaing power, and thus strike a blow' at the Canadian farmera, and also impair,the unity and solidarity of the Empire.
