MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

MASTERTON— MONDAY. (Before Mr W. P. James, S.M.) At the Master ton Magistrate s Court yesterday morning, Harry Edward Gosnell was charged, on the information of Stock Inspector Jenkinson, with exposing for sale, at Eketahunu, sheep infected with lice. Defendant pleaded guilty, and stated that chrough an oversight two infected sheep had been exhibited for sale. A fine of £1 and 7s cost was imposed. . , . Dismissed. An information charging William Costello with having used obscene language was laid by Robert Andrews. The defendant pleaded not guilty. After bearing evidenoe bis Worship dismissed the information. JNo light.—Walter Lett, for riding a bicycle at night without having a light attached, was fined ss, with costs 7s. A Prohibited Person in Trouble. —Peter Jaokson , was charged with beirg upon licensed premises during the currenoy of a prohibition order. Defendant failed to appear. Evidence of the summons to appear having been served was given. A fine of 40s and 7s costs was imposed in default 14 days' imprisonment. Civil Court Cases —Judgment was entered for plaintiff by default in the following oases S-W.F.O. A. (Mr C. A. Pownall) v. John Peterson, £lB 17s 7d, costs £1 10s 6d; Krahageu and chapman (Mr B. J, Dolan) v. W. A. Cook, claim £2, costs ss; Levin and Co. (Mr B. J. Dolan) v. A. Peters, claim £3B 2s 3d, costs £2 14s; Holloway and Sou v. John Peterson, claim £9 7s 9d, costs 8s; C. Wagland v. Denis Hogan, claim £4 5s Id, costs ss. Defended case.—T. Dw'yer and Go. claimed from I. Wiutringham £l' ss, balance ofj hire of a phonograph and damages. It appeared that the defendant and three mates I of hi& hired a phonograph at £1 per week. The phonograph was returned a month afterwards. The sum of £3 was'paid for hire. The case was adjourned for further evidenoe. Old Age Pension.-—A female applicant for the old age pension was granted the full amount, viz., £26.
