BOSTOCK AND WOMBWELL.
CIROUS AND MENAGERIES. The Otago Daily Time?, speaking of Bosiook and Wombwell's Circus, whiob has just closed a highly successful season in Wellington, says: —"The opening peiformance of Boatook and Wombweli's Oirous was greeted by a bumper attendance, the large tent erected on the Southern Cricket Oval being well filled in all parts. Though billed as a qiroua, it is soaroely what is usually understood by that term. There is an absence of anything in the shape of equestrian feats, and horses are not introduced into the programme at ell. This is, however, amply compensated for by a long list of novelties of an exceptionally clever description,'not one of which o.m be spoken of otherwise than in terms of the highest' praise. There is no arena, but a space is re erved in the o ntre of the tent, aud part of thia is occupied by a stage, on whicn most of the performances are given. Tae management is admirable. The most wonderful performance was, however, given by the Lukiahima troupe of Japanese, six in number. Absolutely without fear, they, with marvellous dexterity, and great neatness, do balancing, contortion, and acrobatio feats, whiob are surprisingly clever. The whole performance is to be highly cummended and re- < commended .to intending patrons, who will find much to marvel at, and a great deal to amuse." The season in Mastertou is one of two nighty commencing on Wednesday next.
