A candidate at a recei,t Univer fiifcy examination found himself confronted by an examination paper that a brief glance showed him wae, ,as be described it, "altogether too warm,." However he determined ,to get acme satisfaction out of the Daper and some of his answera are appended. We leave our readers to guess the result of the exam. Q.—How may ibe races of mankind be chiefly divided? A.—into losers,and winners. Q. —What dooa the Indo-Germanio family inciude? A.—lndians and Germans.; but the combination is not always an outiro success. Q.—Name in chronological order the various peoples that have inhabited Enelaud? A.—England has been inhabited by English only. Various foreign people arrived, but immediately became English. Q, —What doeo the present British Empire include? A.—Everything it has been able .to grab, except the United States, Ireland, and a few of the surrounding planets. Q.—-What, in a few words are transcendentalism, epieurianism,and utilitarianism? A.—The fust means thinking on the roof while living in the basement; the second means living well on two pounds a week; the Jhird is the study of how to do so, Q.— Describe a feasible course for the circumnavigation of the globe, mentioning all bodies of water whion would be passed through. A. —ln a balloon. No waters would be pegged through.
